One month to get your free year!

Eligible VRA members have just one month to submit their application to take advantage of one year’s free registration on the Register of Case Managers.

Am I a case manager?

Lots of vocational practitioners are case managers. Some may work alongside medical case managers, or with employers and sometimes only with the service user. They follow the case management process, assessing need, planning and coordinating support and then evaluating and updating the plan.

Why register?

For more than a decade the VRA has worked with CMSUK and BABICM to develop the Institute of Registered Case Managers (IRCM). IRCM’s Register is specific to case management which is not regulated by statute like professions such as occupational therapy, physiotherapy and nursing. The Register is open to case managers from a range of backgrounds including those who do not have experience in a regulated profession.

Registration demonstrates to both potential referrers and the public, a commitment to meeting standards and a willingness to be accountable.

IRCM will be applying to the Professional Standards Authority the UK’s independent regulatory oversight body whose role is to improve the quality of regulation and registration of people working in health and social care. They oversee bodies such as HCPC and NMC. IRCM will be applying to join their Accredited Register Scheme. This will validate IRCM’s commitment to high standards and public protection.

Am I eligible?

To be eligible you need to be a

· VRA member with Level 3 or individual professional membership and

· meet IRCM’s eligibility criteria which focuses on your experience as a case manager.

How do I register? Visit our "Join the Register" page for more information, including links to the guidance, checklist, qualifying experience spreadsheet, and the registration portal.

Remember

· You must submit your application by 12th October. Applications submitted after 12th October will be chargeable – fees will be shared in due course.

· Potential applicants are strongly advised not to leave signing up to the portal and completing their application until the last minute.

Got questions?

If you have any questions the IRCM Operations Team are available to provide help and support to make the process as straightforward as possible. Contact them at hello@ircm.org.uk Find out more here.
